The challenge
Americans spent $198.2 billion on dental services in 2025, up 6.7% from 2024, according to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis. Cost still holds many patients back. In 2025, 17% of US adults aged 19–64 went without needed dental care because of cost, more than twice the share who went without medical care for the same reason, according to the ADA Health Policy Institute.
Alongside financial barriers, patients considering veneers, aligners or tooth replacement often struggle to picture how treatment could change their smile. That uncertainty can make it harder to commit to the cost or take the next step. It can also leave patients and dentists with different expectations.
YSS wanted to give them a shared visual starting point: a way to explore possible changes before a consultation, then request an appointment from the same page.
For live previews to feel convincing, the technology needed to track the patient’s face, mouth and teeth as they moved. It also needed to work across devices. In September 2026, phones accounted for 49% of US web traffic, desktop computers for 48% and tablets for about 2%.
The solution
YSS combines smile simulation, digital promos, appointment requests, patient financing, sharing tools and analytics. Patients can explore treatment options at home or in the practice, while the dental team can see which treatments and campaigns generate interest.
Two ways to preview treatment
The platform uses two types of simulation, both powered by Banuba:
- Live camera previews: Whitening, braces, lip fillers and lip reshaping appear in real time and follow the patient’s face as they move.
- Photo-based previews: Generative AI simulates veneers, straightening and replacement of missing teeth from a single photo, usually in about a minute.
With YSS’s whitening simulator, patients can compare three whitening levels matched to the dental shades A2, B1 and BL2. This gives them specific shade options to discuss with their dentist.
Simulations illustrate possibilities and support treatment conversations. They do not replace clinical assessment or guarantee a particular result.

Practices can share their simulator through:
- Website buttons, pop-ups and embedded pages
- Social media posts and ads
- WhatsApp messages, texts and emails
- QR codes on waiting-room materials
- Chairside tablets
- Follow-ups with patients still considering treatment
Patients request an appointment directly from their simulation. The request includes their before-and-after preview, giving the practice a starting point for discussing their goals and treatment options.
The dashboard shows which treatments, campaigns and patient channels generate appointment requests, helping practices decide where to focus their outreach.

Results: just one new patient paid for the system
A new patient found the simulator on a dental practice’s website, previewed veneers and requested an appointment from the same screen.
At the consultation, the practice’s prosthodontist found that the patient did not need veneers. The patient then saw the practice’s orthodontist, started aligner treatment and added a cleaning and whitening. The preview opened the conversation, and clinical assessment guided the treatment.
The clinic reported about $5,000 in revenue from this patient in the first month. That is more than a year of YSS’s standard subscription fees. In the clinic’s assessment, that single case had paid for the whole year.
