Face AR SDK Release

Face AR SDK v1.12.0: Personalized Avatars, Nail Segmentation, and Studio Lighting

The latest version of Face AR SDK offers groundbreaking features that can massively increase user engagement and experience.

Personalized avatars (iOS)

This feature allows users to easily create 3D characters resembling them. A person can either choose a photo from their gallery or use the live camera feed, and the SDK will create a fitting avatar. The system currently takes into account the following parameters:

  • Skin tone
  • Haircut and hair color
  • Eyebrow shape and color
  • Lip color
  • Face shape
  • Earrings
  • Eyeglasses/sunglasses
  • Facial hair

This feature would be especially effective in video calling apps, although there are many other use cases.

Studio lighting (Web, mobile)

Face AR SDK now allows users to create simulated lighting in pictures and live video feed. The developers can change its brightness, color and direction to achieve the desired effect. The UI for this feature is coming soon.

Thanks to the new technologies and optimizations, the SDK now works faster. The performance boost is especially impressive on high-end devices that get up to 25 more FPS.
